OPPORTUNITIES
Sunday Opportunities
Bible Study - After a fun beginning activity to help children focus, each grade experiences Bible content together and then expresses and expands learning in an adult-led group of 4-6. This expression might include art, drama, creative writing, games, or music. Teachers use LifeWay Bible Teaching for Kids materials to structure weekly one-hour sessions.
Children's Worship - We worship with children 4 years old through 4rd grade. The lesson each week adds to what the childrlen are learning in Sunday School but with a different twist. There is a DVD that has songs with motions and a short video that lasts about 5 minutes. After a short group time the children are divided into two groups, preschool and 1st-3rd grade. Everyone has a lot of fun while learning God's plan for us with his instructions in the Bible.
TeamKID - this group of 1st-5th graders meets on Sunday afternoons during the school year at 4:30 p.m. Each club meeting includes activities, a creative telling of a Bible story, scripture memory work, prayer, and practical application of the Biblical truth. Some meetings also include a video segment supporting Southern Baptist Mission work. All grades start out studying together and then form adult-led groups for age-appropriate pencil and paper activities. All children participate together in scripture, memory games, review and a snack.
Wednesday Opportunities
Children's Choir - The 1st-3rd grade choir meets on Wednesday nights (January through mid July) from 5:45-7:15 in the Kids Zone. Programs are presented at Christmas, Children's Day and VBS musical in the summer. The children are taught songs, use rhythmn instruments, and play fun games to learn music concepts.
G-FORCE is a ministry for children from 1st through 5th grade. This ministry exists for the purpose of helping children know, love and follow God and encounter Him personally each week. G-FORCE provides a safe, fun and enriching environment for children to learn about Christ, discover how to love others and become a faithful Christian. G-FORCE is a Bible study and worship experience for elementary-aged children all rolled into one. Building upon themes that are fun and exciting for kids, G-Force is a fast-moving experience that allows each child to encounter God in a dynamic, interactive, high-tech environment.
GA's (Girls in Action) - Girls in Action® (GA®) is a WMU® missions organization for girls ages 6-11 or in grades 1-5. GA helps girls develop spiritually towards a missions lifestyle as they learn what God is doing in the world and discover their place in God's plan. The purpose of GA is summed up through the GA Pledge: As a GA, I will do my best to live a missions lifestyle that honors God by learning about missions, praying for missions, giving to missions, doing missions, and participating in the work of the church.
RA's (Royal Ambassadors) - Royal Ambassadors (RAs) is a Bible-centered, church based, Southern Baptist mission education organization for boys in grades 1-5. The RA motto, "We are Ambassadors for Christ," not only gives the organization its name, but also gives the boys and leaders a lifestyle goal. This motto is taken from 2 Corinthians 5:20. By definition an Ambassador is a representative in a court or nation other than his own. Royal Ambassadors are representatives of Christ the King bringing good news of salvation to people everywhere. RA activities include mission studies, scripture memorization, service projects, sports, camping, RA Racers, and fellowship activities. |
